GIS and Mapping

CCES provides GIS-based mapping services.  Using GIS and GPS technology CCES is capable of producing high quality map products for a variety of uses.  CCES also creates ecological-based models using GIS extensions to help assess land areas for their potential to support rare species, determine effective corridors, and target specific lands for conservation.  Recently, CCES completed trail mapping services for the City of Marine on St. Croix and has partnered with Rock Steady Running to produce race maps for a variety of racing events.  CCES also uses GPS technology including hand held Garmin’s as well as a sub-meter Trimble GeoExplorer map wetland boundaries, complete botanical and rare species inventories, as well as tree surveys.
