Land Reclamation

Land Reclamation

Land reclamation is completed following a disturbance activity such as mining to renew land to a self-sustaining, long term use which is compatible with contiguous land uses and often includes the reestablishment of natural vegetation, soil stability and establishment of safe conditions appropriate to the intended future use of the land.

Since its establishment in 1999, CCES has been involved in a number of site reclamation projects, typically those associated with active sand and gravel mining. Our specific land reclamation services include site evaluation prior to land disturbance activities including vascular plant or animal surveys; assistance with any pre-project environmental permitting or assessments; the development of reclamation planning document, phasing and timelines, which will meet the requirements of local, state, or federal ordinances or rules; development of reclamation cost estimates; on the ground implementation of reclamation activities; monitoring and oversight, adaptive management as reclamation activities proceed; required quarterly or annual reporting; representation at City Council or other meetings.
